Refugees International President Slams Expansion of “Remain in Mexico” Policy

Statement by Refugees International President Eric Schwartz on U.S. trade deal set to expand “Remain in Mexico” policy:

“This agreement extending the “Remain in Mexico” policy is wicked and immoral because it deliberately imposes grave risks upon highly vulnerable children, women, and men in violation of the most fundamental principles of decency. Credible asylum claimants are being returned to Mexico with no safeguards for their protection and well-being whatsoever. This is unconscionable.”
