Advocacy for Burkina Faso
What’s Happening?
Burkina Faso is experiencing one of the fastest growing displacement crises in the world, emerging as the newest frontline of conflict in Africa’s troubled Sahel region. Once known for its harmony and unity across ethnic, religious, and linguistic lines, Burkina’s civilian population is increasingly caught in the crossfire as fighting between armed groups and national forces plunges the country into chaos.
What Must Be Done?
Refugees International is raising the alarm on the crisis, pressing for solutions aimed at ending atrocities and protecting civilians, and working with donors and civil society leaders from Burkina Faso to improve the country’s humanitarian response.
