Refugees International Launches Forced from Home, a New Podcast on Global Displacement
WASHINGTON – Refugees International is launching a new podcast, Forced from Home, to explore the causes and consequences of global displacement through conversations with frontline community leaders, humanitarians, and the global decisionmakers shaping how the world responds.
Hosted by Refugees International President Jeremy Konyndyk, Forced from Home, will go beyond the headlines to unpack the realities driving displacement worldwide – and the policies and politics shaping solutions.
Konyndyk is a longtime humanitarian advocate and emergency response expert. Before joining Refugees International, he held senior roles in the Biden and Obama administrations and in a range of U.S. and overseas NGO leadership positions.
“Displacement sits at the center of today’s biggest news stories, yet is often widely misunderstood,” said Forced from Home host and Refugees International President Jeremy Konyndyk. “There is an extraordinary amount of misinformation and demagoguery about displacement – usually with an agenda of fear rather than hope. Much of the political discourse seeks to frighten people by dehumanizing refugees and obscuring constructive solutions to displacement.”
“This podcast will be an antidote to that misinformation – highlighting the realities of displacement by talking to the people experiencing and tackling it.” added Konyndyk.
The trailer for Forced from Home is available today on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever you listen to your podcasts. New episodes are coming soon.
