Refugees Financial Inclusion in Kenya: Regulations, Policies & Practices

Kenya is making commendable legislative and policy strides toward realizing digital and financial inclusion for refugees, including recent legislation that recognized prior education qualifications for refugees and another piece of legislation that recognizes refugee IDs as valid documents for telecoms registration. 

The East African Centre for Forced Migration & Displacement, Refugees International, ILO Prospects, and Inkomoko hosted a virtual policy session to interrogate these developments and lessons learned, as well as the policy and legislative steps needed to further realize refugee access to the labor market in Kenya.
