Luz Blancas Sevak joined the Refugees International board in 2026. She is a Senior Advisor at ASG, bringing more than 20 years of experience advancing mission-driven organizations operating in complex global environments. Her work spans strategy, governance, and organizational effectiveness, with a particular focus on expanding access, strengthening institutions, and delivering impact at scale.

Prior to joining ASG, Ms. Sevak co-founded and served as Managing Director of Mindset Global, an advisory and investment firm focused on the global education sector. In that role, she advised universities, education technology companies, and investors seeking to scale solutions that improve access and outcomes across diverse international contexts. Earlier, she founded Mexico Educa to support early-stage social enterprises in Latin America and Asia, working closely with leaders addressing education and workforce challenges in underserved communities.

Ms. Sevak has also served as adjunct faculty at Elmhurst College and Loyola University Chicago, where she developed and taught courses in international business strategy and economic development. Earlier in her career, she was a marketing manager at Siebel Systems (now Oracle) and a senior consultant at the Monitor Group, advising corporate, nonprofit, and government leaders on strategy across the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Ms. Sevak holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS and MS from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Studio Theatre, is a member of the Regional Council for the Leadership Now Project, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions.
