Liz Stern is the Refugees International Development Committee Chair (joined in 2021). She is an internationally recognized legacy expert, strategic advisor, and founder of Global Giving Advisors, where she guides individuals, families, foundations, and corporations in aligning values, vision, and action to create long-term impact. With experience in more than 100 countries, she brings a global perspective to legacy development, philanthropy, and organizational transformation.

Since 2007, Ms. Stern has helped clients invest and contribute over $110 million to address economic, social, and humanitarian challenges. Her work focuses on reframing perspectives, strengthening decision-making at pivotal moments—including liquidity events and succession planning—and supporting leaders in building purpose-driven, resilient institutions.

Ms. Stern serves on the Advisory Boards of the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation and the Flawless Foundation and served as Advisory Board Chair of the Arnhold Institute for Global Health at Mount Sinai, Senior Advisor to the Wealth and Giving Forum, and Vice President of Kageno Worldwide. Her work spans Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas, partnering with communities and governments to address health, education, and economic challenges.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Stern was an investment banker advising companies on strategy and financial management. She holds a B.A. from Pomona College and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
