For years, the international community has been playing hot potato with so-called “climate refugees,” a concept that does not exist in international law. But a UN ruling this month could turn the tide. It involves a man from the Pacific Nation of Kiribati who is seeking refuge in New Zealand. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Kayly Ober of Refugees International about what “landmark” case means and the tricky path ahead for those seeking protection due to climate.
