Refugees International Welcomes Cindy Huang as Vice President of Strategic Outreach

WASHINGTON—Refugees International announced today that Cindy Huang has joined as vice president of strategic outreach. As a senior executive in government and nonprofit sectors, Cindy has led major policy and outreach initiatives on pressing global issues, including forced displacement, food security, and conflict prevention. She will lead Refugees International’s new efforts to build local, state, and national support for improved protection and outcomes for displaced people—both in the United States and around the world.

“We are delighted that Cindy is joining Refugees International to engage and mobilize communities across America,” said Refugees International President Eric Schwartz. “She comes at a time when there is a glaring gap between our citizens’ commitment to provide refuge for vulnerable people and policies that deny their basic rights. Cindy is a dynamic leader who will generate positive energy and momentum to help close this gap.”

Most recently, Cindy was co-director of migration, displacement, and humanitarian policy, and senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development, where she led research and outreach on more effective responses to protracted displacement. Previously, she served in senior leadership roles at the State Department and Millennium Challenge Corporation and worked for Doctors Without Borders.
