Refugees International 40th Anniversary Scholarship Fund Summer 2021 Remote Internships [Pilot Program]

For the summer of 2021, the 40th Anniversary Scholarship Fund will host interns for periods of eight to ten weeks. The internships will be unpaid; however, interns will receive a stipend of $2,500 to defer living and other personal expenses. The internship offers students enrolled in an accredited university the opportunity to intern for and learn from Refugees International. Interns will work closely with staff to research and engage on important refugee, displacement, humanitarian, and human rights issues that need urgent attention and action. The Scholarship Program encourages applications from members of historically underrepresented groups, with the goal of promoting, within the profession, a community that represents the rich range of talents of people from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences.

Each internship position may have their own additional requirements but all interns must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate student, graduate student, or have graduated within the past year;

  • Be seeking the internship as part of the educational experience related to the program in which they are enrolled;

  • Be willing to intern for the recommended hours of 250 hours over the course of the internship within the 9:00am – 5:00pm EST period in which their supervisor will be available, unless further discussed and approve by their supervisor;

  • Have a strong interest in international refugee and humanitarian affairs.
