What We Do

Nationality is a fundamental human right and a foundation of identity, dignity, justice, peace, and personal security. But statelessness (the lack of effective nationality) affects millions of people worldwide.
Military and police intervention – including international peacekeeping efforts and “coalitions of the willing” – are often critical to stabilizing a crisis, protecting displaced people, and securing humanitarian efforts.
After RI called for more aid to Iraqis in squatter settlements, the US and  UNHCR increased resources to improve living conditions.
