Refugees International hosts a comprehensive series of events on an annual basis around the country. With upcoming events planned for New York, London, San Francisco, Jackson Hole, and of course Washington DC, we are pleased to offer a variety of ways in which supporters can get involved. Our premier event is our annual Anniversary Dinner, a Gala which honors leading congressional and humanitarian leaders and celebrates our lifesaving work. Our 30th Anniversary Gala will be held on May 7, 2009 and we are delighted to be honoring Ted Turner.

We host film launches, plays, an annual casino night, lectures, dinners, golf tournaments, our regional circle groups and more.

Forming a Circle Group in Your City

If you are interested in forming and leading a Circle Group in your area, please contact the Development office on 202-828-0110 x202.  Ideally this person will have had exposure to one or more Refugees International Circle events.  The Circle Leader will then recruit three support individuals to serve on a committee:

• Event Coordinator: to plan events (coffee, lunch, dinner, and cocktail, with/without RI speaker. Responsible for planning of the actual event, such as venue, décor, food/beverage, PA systems, flowers, etc.
• Membership Coordinator: to develop and manage membership of the local organization. Will handle all list management, invitations for events, follow up communications, identifying and cultivating members.
• Marketing Coordinator: To assist the event and membership coordinator in their duties, to identify new opportunities, and to promote events and opportunities for RI involvement.
