The Bunong: The Caretakers of Cambodia’s Sacred Forests

06/29/2007

The Bunong: Caretakers of Cambodia’s Sacred Forests gives an in-depth description of the culture, history, and challenges of the indigenous Bunong people of Cambodia. Because the Bunong way of life is often misperceived by other Cambodians and remains relatively unknown to rest of the international community, this report is one of the first to shed light on this unique minority group. Impressive photography and numerous interviews are used to introduce their culture, religious beliefs and their connection to the land they live on. This report also reveals the obstacles that they must overcome in order to preserve their identity in the 21st century.
