The Democratic Republic of Congo is undergoing its first democratic presidential election in four decades. The incumbent, President Joseph Kabila is unpopular in the capital, but is widely expected to win because of his support in the East. The results of the election are scheduled to be released on November 17. RI is taking advantage of the focus on the DRC to highlight ongoing humanitarian needs and advocate for action by the new government and its international supporters to take the steps necessary to resolve the Congo’s humanitarian crisis.
