This woman was driven from her home in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo by fighting. There are 690,000 displaced people in North Kivu, the highest in the country. Fighting continues, and the threat of ambushes and kidnapping prevents aid agencies from reaching displaced people in the south of the province. Refugees International is urging the international community to redouble its efforts to help those still in need in the DRC and increase security for civilians.
