This woman's father is experiencing heart problems, but she cannot afford the 10,000 takas (US $145) that the doctors require for treatment. Her father left Burma five years ago after the military ordered his son to become a porter and carry ammunition. When the son refused the command, he was shot. She has been in Bangladesh since 1991 when her parents arranged her marriage to a Bangladeshi citizen. She maintains that she has integrated in the local Bangladeshi community but due to being poor is not in a position to financially assist her father with his medical treatment.
