Pakistan’s Oct. 8 earthquake left thousands of women without husbands and thousands of children without parents. The Pakistani government, the UN, and aid agencies are working hard to provide widows and orphans with the food and goods they need to survive a long winter, but vulnerable earthquake survivors also require more and continuing protection. This mother and daughter are receiving blankets to help them through the winter.
