This woman is in her sixties and is living in an official camp. Her husband, her daughter, and her son-in-law were killed in the earthquake. She’s now taking care of her daughter’s seven orphans. There is no one in the family who is earning money. She explained that all her property in her village was destroyed, and she does not know how she can rebuild her home. She has received the death benefit of roughly $1400 paid by the government. She said, “I am very worried about what I will do in the spring. Now I have food, and I can feed my grandchildren. How can I return to my village? I have nothing there.”
