After the earthquake, hundreds of camps were created to house people. Few are officially recognized, as the camp pictured here. If a camp is officially recognized, the Government and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees organize basic services, such as water, latrines, education, health care. This camp has 24 hour security provided by the Pakistani military, a child friendly learning space, and cooked food distribution. Camp residents explained that they had everything they needed but were hopeful that they could return home in the spring to begin rebuilding their lives.
