To reach some displaced populations in Ituri, it is now necessary to airlift in humanitarian agencies. The IDP settlement of approximately 20,000 people in Tché was unreachable by humanitarian agencies for almost two weeks in April. Access by road was prohibited after militias held a team from Doctors without Borders for several days. Although weekly helicopter flights have been organized by MONUC so that humanitarian agencies can reach the area, assistance remains limited.
