Sudan (south) 2004: Nun Helps Woman with Malaria

11/16/2004

A Catholic nun talks to a woman she found lying on a blanket beside the road. The woman apparently is suffering from malaria, a common and debilitating disease in the Nuba Mountains, affecting a large percentage of the population. HIV/AIDS is also considered a serious public health problem, although no statistics are available concerning its prevalence.
