RI interviewed this man. He decided to return to Burundi because he heard on the radio in the refugee camp in Tanzania that peace had returned to Burundi. Unlike many returnees who do not have families in their villages, this man was returning to his village to be received by his family. “I am happy to be in my own country where I would be allowed to travel freely without restrictions. In the camps in Tanzania, we were restricted by the Tanzanian police from traveling freely and mistreated.” He hopes to obtain some money to start a business.
