This woman has been living in Wilson Camp for the past year. She explained, “When the rebels (LURD) entered my village last year, they killed my husband and my son-in-law, and they tied me up and left me to die.” She demonstrated how her arms were tied behind her. One of her neighbors untied her, and she came to Wilson camp. She fled to the Samuel K. Doe (SKD) stadium when LURD rebels attacked the camp this summer, and has recently returned to the camp. She explained, “I lived in a house here, but now my house is broken. I have been living in the transit center for the past three months.” This transit center consists of a tent that she shares with 150 other people. Because she is “vulnerable,” an NGO will help her rebuild her house, but she is waiting for that day to come. She has no bedding, no pots to cook with, and she has not received food because she does not have a registration card. She said, “I am tired of living like this. I want to return to my home but there is no security there.”
