Iraq Visual Mission: Displacement in Erbil

08/28/2003

Baharka Collective Town

Kahar, his mother, Magrun, 2 brothers and 2 sisters and 19 children have lived in the collective town of Baharka since 1978.  Iraqi forces destroyed their houses in the village of Pendro.  They returned for a visit in 1994 but because there were no houses or employment, they returned to Baharka.  They have no desire to live in Pendro because of the lack of jobs there.
