Jordan 2003 - Refugee Camps in the “no-man’s land” at the Iraq-Jordan Border

08/26/2003

Mohamed is Palestinian and his wife, Aham, is Jordanian.  They left Baghdad because members of Shia political parties told them to leave.  The family initially spent 7 days in no-man’s land and then was transferred to Camp A.  Their second son was born on the first day of war.  Consequently, he has no birth certificate or other official identity documents.  Aham has relatives in Amman and hopes that her family will be allowed to relocate there soon.
