Afghanistan 2002: Afghan Boy Hospitalized from Burns

01/01/2003

This child was burned when a kerosene stove exploded in his home. Many parts of Afghanistan have cold, snowy winters and shelter and heat are necessities for survival. Wood, charcoal, and kerosene are the most common fuels used for cooking and heating, but they are expensive and many Afghans are too poor to heat their houses.
