Larry, translator, and boy at hospital in Afghanistan

Afghanistan 2002
01/01/2003

The boy being held by Larry Thompson of Refugees International was badly injured in the mistaken bombing by the U.S. of a wedding party. He has undergone brain and leg surgery. On the day of RI's visit to the hospital, the boy was being flown home to rejoin his surviving relatives in a remote region of Afghanistan. He would benefit from continued therapy—which is unlikely to be available to him in Afghanistan.
