This Sierra Leonean sought asylum in Guinea in 1991 after fleeing RUF in Kailahun District. He lived in Gueckedou until it was attacked in December at which point he began walking towards Conakry, in hopes of getting on the ferry for Sierra Leone. However, he was stopped in the town of Faranah by Guinean military and was stripped of all his money and possessions. On the day of the transfer to the new camp, he told RI, "I decided to go to Dabola camp today because it is not safe for us to try to get to Sierra Leone on our own, and if I move with UNHCR, they may eventually take me home."
