Zimbabweans have sophisticated strategies for getting needed commodities. While food and other basic goods are taken from South Africa, they go to Botswana mainly to buy gasoline, which has the cheapest fuel prices in the region. This gas station, at the border between the two countries, has tankers refilling the station every day. Zimbabweans fill up as much as they can carry to sell back home. The people we spoke to here reported crossing into Botswana two to three times a week to purchase fuel for resale.
