The Washington D.C.-based organization Refugees International (RI) says that aid groups need more help in getting assistance to the south of Lebanon. RI says that there is still a precarious situation facing Lebanon, especially those civilians who flooded back to their homes following a ceasefire agreement reached August 11.

"All parties need to recognize the difficulties facing aid groups across the country," Kristel Younes, of RI, says.

Roads are still destroyed and make shift bridges are being built to allow the 500,000 refugees to return to their homes.

"It is a practical solution ... fuel needs to get here because it helps with all aspects of life such as water and power," Younes adds.

RI believes that the media needs to be more attentive of the humanitarian aftermath of the conflict. They say the cost to humanity is very high and only through an exerted effort from multiple parties will Lebanon be able to get back on their feet.
