Flooding is not new in the communities of Ayapel. But in the past two
years, water levels in this part of northern Colombia have reached
heights not seen in almost a century. Confronted by breaches in the
nearby Cauca River and longer, stronger rains, communities have been
inundated for months and are truly struggling to keep their heads above
water.
