Azakhel Afghans Wait to Rebuild their Lives

Over 30 years ago, Afghans fleeing violence in their home country came to Pakistan and created a community in Azakhel. They built up a village, started families and established new lives. Now, in the aftermath of Pakistan's devastating floods, their village has been destroyed and they are displaced once again. In October, RI visited the Azakhel Refugee Village to learn more about these villagers’ needs and to assess how the floods in Pakistan relate to current problems caused by climate change.
